Why these warning lights need proper investigation

An illuminated ABS, traction-control, stability-system or airbag/SRS warning means the relevant control system has detected a fault or limited a function. Mobile diagnostic investigation is available across Sunderland and nearby areas. The conventional brakes may still operate with an ABS warning, but anti-lock or stability assistance may be unavailable. An SRS warning can indicate that part of the restraint system is not operating as intended. Consult the vehicle handbook and do not ignore safety-related warnings.

ABS and stability diagnostics

Useful evidence can include trouble codes, wheel-speed information, brake-switch status, steering-angle data, voltage and module communication. A code mentioning a wheel-speed circuit does not by itself prove the sensor is defective; wiring, a connector, supply, signal pattern or another related condition may need checking.

Airbag and SRS diagnostics

Airbag/SRS systems can store codes for electrical circuits, occupant-detection inputs, seat or belt-related components, supply voltage and module communication. Diagnostic work can read relevant information and investigate accessible evidence, but this service does not claim to repair or handle airbags or pyrotechnic components.

What the visit may include

• scanning the relevant safety and chassis modules;
• recording current, stored and intermittent codes;
• reviewing wheel-speed or other live values;
• checking supply voltage and communication where appropriate;
• looking for patterns linked to recent battery or repair work; and
• explaining findings and recommended next steps.

Fault codes are not cleared simply to hide a warning. Clearing may be used as part of confirmation where sensible, but unresolved faults normally return.
